"There are no great limits to growth because
there are no limits of human intelligence, imagination, and wonder."
- Ronald Reagan
Welcome to Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES Model Schools!
The Model Schools program is one of three services under the Integrated Education Services (IES) umbrella at Erie 2 BOCES. Focusing on the integration of technology to support the NYS and Common Core Learning Standards, professional development under this Coser is individually designed for the goals of each district.
Much of how technology is being used in classrooms today is what Alan November refers to at "automating;" the tool is laid on top of current classroom practices and doesn't substantially change the methods or approaches to student learning. In those instances, the focus is on technology as the tool. The E2CCB Model Schools program prides itself on taking an "informating" approach: the work of schools is re-designed so that new information, new approaches and new perspectives are developed as a result of the use of technology.
E2CCB Model Schools is also a member of the NYS Model Schools Consortium, a network of technology integrators and professional development specialists from Model Schools Programs representing various BOCES and Regional Information Centers (RICs) across New York State.
